Driven by a love of adventure and sunshine, Liam Dennehy packed up his worldly possessions and headed off across Europe in a Hiace van. Accompanied by his willing wife and not so willing daughter, they landed in the unspoilt treasure of Puerto de Mogán. Quickly establishing himself as a resident of this beautiful fishing village, Liam opened up Puerto de Mogán’s first restaurant in 1985. This venture was the ultimate adventure for Liam as he had to journey along the dirt roads to Arguineguín every day to source provisions for his customers.
Over the years, Puerto de Mogán became a vibrant harbour resort. It is both a lively and intimate port with stunning sea views, and this combination has earned Puerto de Mogán the moniker of ‚Little Venice‘. And since its establishment over thirty-five years ago, the Marina Bar has also experienced many changes including a new and exciting refurbishment in 2021.
The Marina Bar is uniquely two cultures under one roof. It prides itself on being both Spanish and Irish: combining the warmth of Puerto de Mogán’s sunshine with the warmth of a traditional Irish welcome. The Marina Bar offers you the coastal beauty of Gran Canaria with its own marina views, and the welcoming hospitality (and delicious drinks!) that Irish pubs are known for worldwide.

Puerto de Mogan is a picturesque fishing village located in the south-west of the island of Gran Canaria, where it’s nice weather all year round. The area is nicknamed the ‚Little Venice“ thanks to its architecture and the small canals and bridges that link its beautiful pedestrian streets.
